Paper Smooches Designer Drafts

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying the festive season. I’ve been so happy to have time with the family and away from work, and managed to do some re-organising of my craft space that has me all inspired. Today I had a play and decided to do a card for the current Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge:

SPARKS BADGEDec13DD

I just love the arrows in the new Love-Struck set. I cut out a bunch using the coordinating Love Struck Icons dies a week or so ago and had them ready to go. They’re the perfect size for dressing up tags and so I thought I’d make a stamped tag the focus of this card. It’s adhered using removable adhesive so the recipient can keep it and use it as a bookmark. I used a dash-line heart from the Sweet Hearts set to create a subtle background on the lighter pink background card piece on the left. The “xoxoxo” greeting is also from the Sweet Hearts set and I stamped it on some notepaper card for the sentiment. Did you know Paper Smooches is having a sale? What better time to stock up on some new stamping goodies, right?!

And here are some other tags I made while doing this card that were super quick and easy. I’ve just started using Memento Luxe inks so wanted to try them out on some Kraft card stock. The colours stayed quite nice and rich and didn’t take too long to dry. Long enough that you could easily emboss with them though which is great! I found that gently tapping the stamp on the surface of the pad gets me the best results. They’re a nice alternative to dye inks on coloured card stock.

Lawnscaping Challenge #72 – Arctic Colours

It’s another scorching hot summer day here in Canberra (Australia), so the idea of playing with some cool arctic colours is very appealing! This week’s Lawnscaping Challenge has the following palette.

Tonight’s job after the kids go to sleep is present wrapping, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to make some more gift tags. Lawn Fawn’s Tag You’re It set has become my go-to-set this week for all the little Christmas presents we’ve given out to teachers, school friends etc. It’s so quick and easy to use and a great way to use up scrap pieces of card stock and patterned paper. Here I wanted to make a double-layer tag, with Stampin Up Sahara Sand card as the main layer, and some Lawn Fawn patterned paper at the back. On the front layers I stamped Lawn Fawn’s Teeny Tiny Backdrops star background in Versamark and then heat embossed it in white embossing powder. The stamp was wide enough that I could line all three tags up in a row and stamp them at the same time! The images are from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Snow and have been coloured with Copics. I did the seal first and cut it out, and then decided to give the  penguin and polar bear their own little icebergs to stand on :).  The little flag label is from the same Tag You’re It set, just trimmed down to size.

Paper Smooches Love Struck

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So excited to receive my Paper Smooches order this week and have a play – I was certainly ready for a break from making Christmas cards! I coloured the little cupid figure and arrow using Copics and then used the coordinating Love Struck icons dies to cut them out (the PS dies leave a lovely white border around the images and really help add dimension). I stamped the large heart stamp using Memento Luxe Love Letter ink and clear embossed it. The little hearts stamped around the card are from the Love Struck set, and also this month’s PS Perks free set Sweet Hearts. I used the Hearts Dies to cut out some hearts from patterned card stock and used the little row of hearts to create a ric-rac like border.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes challenge

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello, just wanted to quickly post this card I made for my hubby’s birthday today. My sweetheart loves gadgets and they’re a big part of his life at work and home, so this Paper Smooches set Teen Routine was a must-have and I was so excited when it arrived in the mail this week in time to use it for his card. It was heaps of fun using the little icon images and lining them up on the screen. My young sons were particularly excited about the Nintendo gaming remote – can see myself using that one on their cards in the near future!! I’m entering this card in the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, Anything Goes.

Lawn Fawn Muslin Bags

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s a couple more stamped muslin bags for Christmas gifts, this time using Lawn Fawn’s And a Partridge set and the adorable reindeer from Critters in the Snow. Muslin is not the most ideal surface to colour on, but I’m sure my kids won’t notice! Stamping the tree image and colouring the smaller pear shapes was easier. Anyway just a little project that I’m entering in the Lawnscaping Challenge #71 – Tags or Treat Bags.

Monday Mood Board #24

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The beautiful shot below from the current WPlus9 Monday Mood Board challenge got me thinking about gift packaging options. I make my own handmade soap and these muslin bags are the perfect size to hold the soap bars. Of course they need to be stamped and personalised! The WPlus9 Woodland Wreaths set has to be one of the loveliest Christmas sets I’ve ever used – so much fun to layer the images and such a striking effect with minimal effort.

Below I also used the Woodland Wreaths stamps and coordinating die to create a simple hanging gift tag for a cellophane treat bag. This one will be a good option for my kids’ friends. And I also stamped onto a kraft cardboard box, another simple packaging idea.

Lawn Fawn Lettering Project

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I came across this quote recently and thought it would be great for a lettering project. Lawn Fawn’s Quinn’s ABCs stamps are the perfect size for this type of project. I recently bought the set and matching dies – the stamps are super easy to line up on your clear block if you’re stamping directly onto your card stock, and the die cuts are lovely for adding dimension. I die cut the letters for the words that I wanted to highlight with a little outline effect. I ran them through my Xyron sticker maker with re-positionable adhesive which made placing them super easy. I had a wonderful time this morning stamping and colouring the letters with Copics, and then embellishing the quote with Lawn Fawn’s Blissful Botanicals set. Hope you like it!
