OCC Copics Day 5 home work

CopicsDay5_2

It’s been a long time since I coloured any people images – since my Magnolia phase a few years ago in fact – so it was good to re-visit this topic! I’m of Indian descent, so was particularly interested in exploring the darker skin tones. I struggled a bit to get a good black hair colour using my grey markers – maybe I’ll try a blue/black marker next time.

OCC Copics Day 4 Homework

Day4_1_edited-1Day4_2_edited-1

Hooray for a long weekend here in Canberra which gave me a chance to get up-to-date with my Online Card Classes Copics for Card Makers home work :). I really enjoyed colouring these flowers and particularly liked Kristina Werner’s flicking technique for adding some interest in the centre of the flowers (red/pink flower above).

Online Card Classes: Copic markers for card makers Day 1 Homework

CopicsDay1

Another fabulous class from the amazing girls at Online Card Classes. This is the fourth class I’ve taken with them and I’m loving it. Not only are the classes jam packed with ideas, techniques and tips, the homework for this class is such fun (and has got me back onto my blog, finally!). I don’t work on Fridays and so was able to catch up with Days 1-3 at last. Here’s my basic blending practice sheet.

Shari Carroll’s Star Card

I so adored the Hero Arts star card that the amazing Shari Carroll posted on her blog here that I had to try it. All of Shari’s cards are so beautifully put together – I love the way she arranges the different elements on her projects and her use of colour is masterful. Here is my effort at Shari’s card:

Star2

I made this one for a little girl’s birthday so used more pinks, but it’s such a great general design that changing the colour palette would make it suitable for any age.

Stencil: Tim Holtz Bubbles
Cardstock: Stampin Up!
Ink: Distress inks: Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Versa-mark
