Another Lawn Fawn bookmark

CopicsTag1

I had to make a bookmark for my older son too of course (see previous post!), but this time I coloured the adorable Lawn Fawn dog practice image using grey markers and I did the Distress Ink background in blues and heat embossed the Lawn Fawn greeting using Stampin Up silver embossing powder. I used some DMC stranded metallic thread for the tassel. The boys are already using these tags in their books upstairs at night when reading too :).

Liamtag

My young son Liam was watching Debby Hughes’ Online Card Classes video with me where she made a beautiful card with a tag with this little dog on it. Liam loved it and requested a bookmark version, so here’s what I made for him. I coloured the background of the tag with Distress Inks. The sentiment, from the Lawn Fawn stamp set Into the Woods, was heat embossed using Stampin Up gold embossing powder. I also splattered some Heidi Swapp Gold Lame Color Shine on the tag and used Ranger Black Enamel Accents on the eyes.

OCC Copics Day 6 Colouring Animals

CopicsDay61

CopicsDay62

I have quite a few of Lawn Fawn’s critter sets (they’re so adorable and perfect for kids’ birthdays!) and so I was really excited about this lesson in the Online Card Classes Copics course. I did the homework over a week ago but just haven’t had a chance to post it until now. I coloured the dogs and foxes using techniques that both Kelly and Sandy demonstrated – I want to keep working on the long fur/short fur flicking technique!

Lawn Fawn Birthday Penguins

DSC00088

I grew up in a small town on the north west coast of Tasmania called Penguin, so have a life-long love of these little creatures! These Lawn Fawn ones are so much fun to colour and I used them here for another birthday card for my stash. I also used the Lawn Fawn A Birdie Told Me dies to cut a speech bubble from the Into the Woods paper pack and heat-embossed the sentiment. Love how the dies can be used with or without the coordinating stamps.  I’m entering this one into the Lawnscaping Birthday challenge.

Lawn Fawn Birthday Fun

LF1

With two young boys and birthday parties to attend I’m always needing cards for their friends so thought I’d take advantage of my few days off work to make some for the next couple of months. I stamped and coloured a batch of various Lawn Fawn Critters (so much fun!) and then used the Into the Woods 6×6 paper pack to make a number of bases for the cards. I love how the designs in the 6×6 pads are scaled down to suit card sizes – they work so well!

I’d like to wish the Lawnscaping Challenge team a very Happy 4th Birthday! I’m entering the above card in their birthday challenge.

Lawnscaping Challenge #72 – Arctic Colours

It’s another scorching hot summer day here in Canberra (Australia), so the idea of playing with some cool arctic colours is very appealing! This week’s Lawnscaping Challenge has the following palette.

Tonight’s job after the kids go to sleep is present wrapping, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to make some more gift tags. Lawn Fawn’s Tag You’re It set has become my go-to-set this week for all the little Christmas presents we’ve given out to teachers, school friends etc. It’s so quick and easy to use and a great way to use up scrap pieces of card stock and patterned paper. Here I wanted to make a double-layer tag, with Stampin Up Sahara Sand card as the main layer, and some Lawn Fawn patterned paper at the back. On the front layers I stamped Lawn Fawn’s Teeny Tiny Backdrops star background in Versamark and then heat embossed it in white embossing powder. The stamp was wide enough that I could line all three tags up in a row and stamp them at the same time! The images are from Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Snow and have been coloured with Copics. I did the seal first and cut it out, and then decided to give the  penguin and polar bear their own little icebergs to stand on :).  The little flag label is from the same Tag You’re It set, just trimmed down to size.

Lawn Fawn Muslin Bags

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s a couple more stamped muslin bags for Christmas gifts, this time using Lawn Fawn’s And a Partridge set and the adorable reindeer from Critters in the Snow. Muslin is not the most ideal surface to colour on, but I’m sure my kids won’t notice! Stamping the tree image and colouring the smaller pear shapes was easier. Anyway just a little project that I’m entering in the Lawnscaping Challenge #71 – Tags or Treat Bags.

Lawn Fawn Lettering Project

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I came across this quote recently and thought it would be great for a lettering project. Lawn Fawn’s Quinn’s ABCs stamps are the perfect size for this type of project. I recently bought the set and matching dies – the stamps are super easy to line up on your clear block if you’re stamping directly onto your card stock, and the die cuts are lovely for adding dimension. I die cut the letters for the words that I wanted to highlight with a little outline effect. I ran them through my Xyron sticker maker with re-positionable adhesive which made placing them super easy. I had a wonderful time this morning stamping and colouring the letters with Copics, and then embellishing the quote with Lawn Fawn’s Blissful Botanicals set. Hope you like it!

Lawn Fawn CHA Catalogue Challenge

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The amazing Lawn Fawn are currently running a challenge to feature cards in their upcoming CHA booth and catalogue. I made this card using the Sharp Backdrops and So Much to Say sets. I love the geometric backdrop design and thought I’d highlight a few of the diamond shapes by stamping them in different colours and giving them some dimension. I don’t have any coloured embossing powder so stamped the greeting in dye ink and then used a Versamark pen to trace over it and clear emboss it. The little buttons are tied with Lawn Fawn cord from the Retro pack (such a joy to work with!). I used a marker to draw a couple of dashed lines around the buttons and greeting.

Make It Monday #141 Adding Glitter with Heat & Stick Powder – Card 2

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

So here’s my second card using this week’s Make it Monday technique. I stamped one of the stripe images from PTI’s Super Stripes set and then followed the steps for adding the Heat & Stick powder and glitter (SU Dazzling Diamonds). Fun! I then used the adorable Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows set for the main image, coloured with Copics. I wanted the oval matt to also have some bling to match the striped background, so used the Versamark ink pad directly on the edge of the oval piece and followed the same technique to add the glitter.
